My first encounter with this fragrance was when I was about sixteen. It was (and still is) comforting and addictive, and I would still count it as my signature scent if I wore it more often. Having said that, it is the scent that I feel most content wearing due to the nostalgic element. He also managed to join the Fashion Institute of Technology and this is when he was inspired to create clothes. After having worked for some Seventh Avenue fashion houses for around five years, he decided to launch his own brand with the help of his childhood friend Barry Schwartz.i kinda blind bought this...let me explain, i sort of remembered this frag ie using it long long ago and loving the scent i at that time had no knowledge and/or expectations from a frag performance wise (my teens), it is quite cheap, and when i got it, at the time before hand, i was quite certain that i would absolutely love the scent, as i did before...the bottle i own is 2021 i think... Contraction has everything Christmas 2000 would have called for. I can see from the listed notes there is sandalwood and tonka. That combination almost registers to me as spicy, perhaps verging on something like a vanilla bean or cinnamon. On top it's metallic. That's what helps it fit in with the 90s aquatics and more minimalist perfumes of the early aughts. It's sweet but at the same time it has a cologne vibe that moves it toward unisex. A perfect combo for a rather preppy era. In my late high school life and even in my 20s, Contradiction felt as suitable for a night out as it did for school and work. I miss that.
Same with Contradiction. I really like it, really enjoy it (there are moments when I even feel emotional :-D towards the fragrance ), but all in all - for some reason it doesn't seem to "gel with me" enough to make the effort to get it (or keep it in this case as I already have a bottle). From analysis of the notes I like over the last few months I understand now why I like jasmine, sandalwood, tonkabean, peony scents... they all remind me of Contradiction but I never realized that until today :) This also means that while EDTs will be priced lower, you might have to apply more of it to obtain the same effect as EDPs. So for the purpose of this roundup, we are only going to describe the EDPs. How to Choose a Calvin Klein PerfumeBody Mist – super diluted fragrance. Doesn’t last very long when you put it on, requires multiple applications. just for reference, i had a friend over, i sprayed him with this, with the same results, gone within the hour, completely...
