About this deal

At half body distance it seems to me the Zhong Yi lenses and this TTArtisan 50mm 0.95 perform very similar. Some detractors may say manual focusing lenses, and well, third-party lenses are not for serious work, and in this case, I beg to differ; in fact, I was using this exact lens for a review with the just launched Polaroid P2 (review here). TTArtisan 50mm f/0.95 Lens Review - Ultra-fast, Ultra-affordable TTArtisan 50mm f/0.95 Lens Review - Ultra-fast, Ultra-affordable

TTArtisan is on a roll with yet another manual focus lens announcement, the TTArtisan 35mm f/0.95. This past summer I reviewed the TTArtisan 50mm f/0.95 and 18 months ago I reviewed the 7Artisans 35mm f/0.9 5. For comparison’s sake I included the Zhong Yi Mitakon 50mm 0.95 II here. Despite the significantly smaller rear lens diameter interestingly the amount of optical vignetting is very much comparable to the Zhong Yi 50mm 0.95 and there is also none of that strange light spill. I agree completely. Sold all my Fuji lenses not just because of the crap manual focus, but also because I don’t share the common wisdom that such lenses as the xf 35mm 1.4 is so wonderful. In fact compared to my various vintage lenses, as well as 7art and ttart ones, I find it to have a soulless look that gives me no positive emotions. If you haven’t yet you might also try the ttartisans 23mm 1.4. between it and the 7artisans 35mm one could spend a lifetime of photography happily. Also,I don’t understand the need for focus “aids ” turn the ring until the desired focus is achieved visually. Or does everyone have terrible, uncorrected eyesight?Wide open there is noticeable coma visible. Stopping down to f/2.8 improves the performance significantly, but as we have seen in the sharpness section the corners never look great. There is vignetting at f/0.95 but at no point was it over the top and I never felt the need to correct it in post-processing. Sometimes vignetting adds to the character of your photos. Also note that I focused on the corners for these shots, if you focus on the center the corners will look slightly worse. What I can tell you, there are more and more people who do not want to buy from China because we have to diversify, produce local, and do not help people who threatens world peace and democracies … So, if a lens is cheap and has good result, I prefer to use a lower one, also more expensive, but without helping the evil 😉 So, I’ve recognized Venice, of course, and Ortisei 🙂 I’m often in Venice and used to work a lot in South Tyrol.

TTArtisan APS-C 35mm F0.95 - Digital Distribution

At 8.7 oz, 247 g, the TTArtisan 35mm f/0.95 is lighter and more compact than the 50mm f/0.95 which is 14.5 oz, 411 g. It is also only two-thirds of the weight of the 7Artisans 35mm f/0.95. Here you see the TTArtisan 50mm 0.95 vs Leica Noctilux 50mm f1 vs Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f1, side by side size comparison. It’s big! Better than expectedSo this lens will work on a full frame L mount camera (Panasonic S1 in my case) and maintain the f/.95 aperture? If you mainly want to shoot at f/1.4 I would recommend to get an f/1.4 lens (e.g. the TTArtisan 50mm 1.4) as it will save you money, bulk and the opening will be perfectly round at f/1.4. I’ve been looking at 7Artisans’ and TTArtisan’s 50mm 0.95 but can’t decide which one to go ahead with, as both do have purple fringing and chromatic aberrations. This way we would have a seamless operation with our cameras and could enjoy the wonderful tactile feeling of a solidly built lens using manual focus. Pros
