About this deal

People took notice immediately. Some publications even set her apart as one of a few dozen faces to watch in the coming decade. And Adele Parks did not disappoint them, proceeding to sell millions of copies of her books and having many professionals in the industry describe her as one of the most beloved authors of women’s fiction in the United Kingdom.

While not my favourite of her books, and feeling a little predictable, I still found myself wanting more and to see what happened next. It was nice to find that Lies, Lies, Lies is effectively the third in this story following the same four friends and I found myself moving onto the second in the series (that isn’t written as a series in a conventional way!) and I moved directly onto Young Wives’ Tales! Adele Parks tries to bring that same drama and complexity to her books. She isn’t too keen on producing contemporary romance novels filled with desperate women engaging in catty exchanges. I don’t read many biographies because I think it’s very hard to pin a person down to paper. Books are short chapters in people’s lives, whereas biographies try to cover everything, which is virtually impossible. That said, I loved Fay Weldon’s autobiography. Favourite non-fiction book? Connie Green’s life should be perfect. She’s married to gentle, loving Luke, has a good job and really fabulous friends. She thinks she can’t be happier.

Publication Order of Anthologies

However, Adele Parks takes offense with the idea that the term can be used broadly to describe all literary works written by women about women. Adele contends that women are very complex human beings and any book that aims to explore their lives, loves, and friendships should be treated with some respect. Connie goes to a work conference and meets John he is forbidden temptation and a real ladies man. Connie resists and at another conference she cannot she gives in. She is free with him and cannot wait to see him again. Luke is often away on business so it’s easy for her to get away.

I’m reading Love Untold by Ruth Jones. This is Ruth’s third book but she’s probably best known for co-writing and starring in Gavin and Stacey. She’s such a national treasure and her humour and warmth always come through in her writing. Love Untold is about four generations in one family. The matriarch is about to turn 90 and she wants to heal the long-standing rift in her family. I’m about the third of the way through and her writing feels like a warm hug. What book from childhood will always stay with you? When you read this book, you'll admire the way Adele Parks made her characters in this book. She divided her stories into three (four at last) point of views. She made difference between these three of characters. She is good in it. I love her intelligence. When she act as Rose, the story told by a nice mum. When Lucy told, she told us like she was a good mistress, with unsteady emotions, and bad scenes. When John took part in the story, Adele wrote as a bad boy with impure mind. Lucy stole her friend Rose’s ‘happily ever after’ because she wanted Rose’s husband and Lucy always gets what she wants. Big mistake. Rose was the ideal wife and is the ideal mother; Lucy was the perfect mistress. It's sexy. It's roguish. It's hilarious. It's a sensational debut novel from London, a joyously comic take on modern marriage and its fallout. Single people may feel they have it rough...but wait until you see what happens when married folk fall in lust. Adele attributes her considerable visibility to her chatty persona. She is also fairly opinionated. As such, while many of her peers in the publishing arena would rather disappear behind a computer, Adele is out in public making her voice heard.

Adele Parks MBE is one of the most-loved and biggest-selling women's fiction writers in the UK. She has sold over 4 million books and her work has been translated into 30 different languages. Gillian McAllister’s latest book Wrong Time Wrong Place is exceptionally clever. In it, a mother watches her teenage son stab someone in the street. He’s a kind and loving son so she can’t work out why he did it. By the end of that evening he’s in custody, refusing to have a lawyer and she can’t understand her husband and son’s reaction to the stabbing. She goes to bed devastated. The next morning, she wakes up the day before the crime happened, and every day she goes to bed, she moves further away from the crime, but arguably closer to why it happened. It’s fascinating. What book will always stay with you? I was amused, touched, romanced, saddened and thrilled by the story from start to finish. Totally unputdownable!' During her career Adele has lived in Italy, Botswana and London. Now she lives happily in Surrey, UK Don't miss Adele's latest gripping novel, Both of You, out now!
