They are much easier to clean and work with than the plastic palette materials, which tend to stick to dried paint much too easily. I set the palette up, played with some paint and was really happy with the consistency of the paints, not only that I found that my paints after several hours had not soaked up too much moisture and as such had not spread across my palette, this happens too often with my own palette, especially if I am unable to get my preferred Kitchen Towel to act as the reservoir paper beneath. Although this prototype is 3D printed the real product will be made from ABS plastics and rather conveniently will be dishwasher safe! RGG’s instructions state you should keep adding water until there is a thin layer of water sitting on top of the foam. The RGG360 Painting Handle V2 uses magnets and an ergonomic handle to help you paint minis with more comfort.
If you are looking for a durable, easy to clean, and large capacity wet palette, this is a great option. The rest of the painting process didn’t actually involve the wet palette all that much, but I kept using it for some of the smaller details on my intergalactic space crusaders.hits this same
The "sponge" is a piece of foam cut to fit the container, and it even comes with pieces of paper pre-cut to fit the size. For instance the need to replace the sponge or kitchen roll as it has gone mouldy and smelly, the depth of most wet palettes on the market and in particular those who make their own from Tupperware containers and if like me you’re using baking paper, the need to cut this to size is fiddly and annoying. Since this painting handle just uses sticky tac, the top of it can be smaller than the base, so no issues there.You can use a straight edge razor to scrap any remaining dried paint off the smooth glass surface easily.
The only changes I would make to it would be to add one of those finger rests that arcs over the top of the model, maybe as something that can snap on, or an alternate top. The anti-spill pot holder and Wavy palette attach along the long or short edges of the bottom tray of the palette. You can use a window scrapper to remove most of the residual paint and wipe the remainder away with a clean paper towel. The palette comes with a fifty-sheet packet of hydration paper, two pieces of hydration foam – both of which are necessary for getting the palette operational – as well as the orange-lidded palette itself, a grey elasticated band for keeping it closed, and, as mentioned above, a magnetic “Wavy accessory” for your more aqueous hobby liquids.Other than the features and painting characteristics of the RGG palette I detail above, you’ll find other unique things about the RGG Everlasting Wet Palette. The foam that comes with the Everlasting wet palette is incredibly smooth but firm, and holds the water beautifully. Finally, inside the package was a handy tutorial booklet with the amazing work by Angel Giraldez, the former pro studio miniature painter for Corvus Belli (producer of the Infinity the Miniatures Game). While a soft brush help avoid damaging the palette paper, I found that the hydration membrane for the Everlasting wet palette was very durable.
Make sure you give your pot a good shake before applying any to your palette, and then just make sure you keep stirring it as you use it.Even the original versions (any of them) of the everlasting wet palette did not have this sealing feature. I've been using my trusted piece of tile for two decades now and haven't felt a reason to change, despite everyone saying I should try it.
